AN ORANGE PEPLUM

I centered this outfit around my new orange peplum shirt, that I got it from a thrift shop called The Ark. The color and texture of the fabric stood out to me amongst all the other tops in the row. When I pulled it out and saw that it was a peplum i got o excited. They are fun shirts that can cover a tummy or add a cute flair to an outfit. With it being one of my favorite colors and a great fit, I had to get it!

The skirt is a leather pencil skirt from H&M. I love it because I can dress it up like I did with this outfit or I can keep its edgy look. The hat is from a cruse I went on. It is always fun in the sunny weather. It shades you and keeps you looking fancy at the same time haha. The shoes are my leather Harley Davidson boots that i found at Value Village. I fell in love with them at first sight and it was meant to be when they fit me perfectly.

I had fun coming up with this outfit. I was a little nervous at first because of the orange and black because I didn't want it to look to Halloween themed. I think it ended up working out well. Peplum shirts and pencil skirts are great together because they extenuate the thin areas and hide those areas you may not be as confident in.

CAN'T GET ENOUGH DENIM

For this post I decided to go with all denim outfits. I am a great fan of anything denim and am not afraid to wear them together. For the first look I paired my Paige jeans, that i got from a Good Will in Settle, with a super comfy and stretchy denim shirt that i got from a thrifty boutique in town town Spokane. Then I thought "why not just add more denim". So I through on a denim vest I made by cutting off the sleeves of an old jean jacket my mom didn't want any more. Then I topped the outfit off with my Harley Davidson, black boots that I got at Value Village.

Here I just took off the vest so you could see the awesome pattern that is on the shirt. I love the paisley pattern and the pointy collar on this shirt! I think it must be from the 70's but I'm not sure, either way I'm in love with it.

This outfit was mainly just for fun. I thought that the pearl tie and big glasses gave it a fun spin on the nerd stereotype. I love this outfit because of the skirt. It came with the suspenders, which make them so much fun and unique. The shirt is from H&M. The socks along with the skirt are from Forever 21. The glasses and shoes are from Value Village. The tie is a hand me down from my grandma.

I like this outfit best without all the accessories, but they were just to much fun to completely disregard.

When I was thrifting at Value Village one day I found this top and fell in love. It ties in the back and is so much fun. I also love the retro style.I also found these awesome super comfortable highwaisted jeans. This outfit is fun because it is a retro spin in today's trends of crop tops and highwaisted bottoms. Then of courses because of the theme I had to through on my Keds that are almost look like they are made of denim.

For this last outfit I went for something super summery. I put on my highwaisted shorts that
I made from cutting pants I bought at the thrift shop. Then added a jean button up tank top from Value Village and tied it up. This is a fun outfit with kind of a rockabilly flair to it. A good warm summer day outfit.

THE POLKA DOT PANTS

I love these pants. They are so much fun! I got them at a more up beat thrift shop in Moscow Idaho called The Storm Cellar. They are great because they look a lot like a full length skirt but they are pants which make them that much more comfortable. And they have pockets! Also not to mention the awesome polka dot pattern and the fun vintage vibe they have.

For the first outfit I paired them with a striped crop top that I got at Forever 21. I love mixing patterns! There are always people that say you cant mix patterns, but whats the fun in that? To top off the outfit I added my hat and platform sandals from Forever 21 and then a brown belt to pull it all together. I love this outfit because it has such a fun summery feel to it and I also love any excuse to wear my hat.

With this outfit I went for a more dressed up look by wearing a lace top that I actually got as a hand me down from my friend Eliza's mom. I topped the look off with sparkly silver earring and bracelet that I also got as a hand me down from Eliza. Then lastly I added my nude heals that I got from Good Will.

With this outfit I was going for a comfy, slouchy outfit that would be perfect for the beach. I just paired the pants with a short sleeved beachy sweatshirt that I got forever ago from American Eagle. Then for the shoes I wore my favorite sandals that I got at Target.

For this outfit I made it nice and casual with the same sandals from above and a crop top t-shirt that i got from Pac Sun. I love this shirt because it has a picture of The Great Wave at Kanagawa by the artist Katsushika Hokusai. It has always been a painting that I have loved. Then with the weather being so sunny lately I threw of my circle sunglasses from Forever 21 to complete the look.

For this last outfit I tied up a plain white tank top that I got from Value Village. I wore my brown wedges from Target and paired that outfit with two different sets of jewelry. Above I wore teal jewelry for a pop of some color. Bellow I wore gold jewelry to dress up the outfit a little more. The gold jewelry also matches the gold accents on my shoes. These outfits are fun because they are not super casual, but casual enough that you can wear it out for a normal occasion.

THE PLAID SKIRT

There are so many ways you can style one thing. In this post I show different ways that I styled a plaid skirt.

Here I am wearing a skirt that I made by just cutting off an ankle length skirt I got at Value Village. The shirt is also from Value Village, it's originally from Loft. My hat and platform sandals are from Forever 21.
When picking out this outfit I was aiming more towards the grunge end of the fashion spectrum.

Here, all I did was add some jewelry. Jewelry can change the outfit's feel to almost whatever you want. In the picture above I used jewelry with gold and black ascents to stay with the more hard intense feel of the outfit. Then in the picture below, I used a diamond and pearl necklace to soften the feel of the outfit, making it quite not so in your face.

Here I switched up the feel of the outfit to more of a preppy feel with a lace shirt that i also got from Value Village. I also changed my shoes to some nude heels that yes, I also got from the thrift shop. I love the shoes because they have a cute ankle strap and a cut out back by the heel. I added a bold gold chain necklace, gold hoop earrings and some gold bangles, giving the look just a little edge.

I also played with adding some glasses frames that I saw at Goodwill, giving the look an extra push to the preppy side. I don't know why, but I couldn't leave the store without them in my possession. I love their huge frames and cheetah print pattern.

Then because the weather was finally getting nicer and sunnier, I added a sun hat. This hat I got on a cruise I went on with my family to the Caribbean. The hat almost adds an elegance to the outfit.

Lastly, I went a more skater casual feel. I have had the shirt for so long, I can't remember if it's from Forever 21 or H&M. The hat is from Macy's. I loved it because of its neutral colors that can go with almost everything. I also love my white Converse high tops because they are a style coming back from the 70's and I love recycling fashion trends. I finished with a white watch that was given to me for Christmas so its from wherever Santa got it from haha. I love this look because it is such an easy every day look.

Here I just turned the hat backwards to give it a tomboy feel that is always fun to try out.

Then I couldn't resist putting on my red fuzzy hat that is always a conversation starter. I actually found it in my grandmas closet one day and she told me I could have it.

HERE WE GO

I am excited to start this blog so that I can start sharing my clothing choices with you! A sense of fashion is not something that I have always had. I remember in middle school I wore the most outrageous lime green sweatshirt that had colorful cartoon dogs all over it. I don't know what I was thinking with that clothing choice. I started taking more interest in my clothing in high school. I remember finally convincing my mom to get me subscription to teen vogue. After looking at magazines and even just watching TV my fashion passion began to grow. I have always loved seeing the high end fashion styles but I will honestly say that most of my fashion has come from those that I have seen go against the norm and stick out in crowd. Though my clothing choices are not that extravagant today, I hope to some day work up the courage to go out wearing something so unique that I draw the eye of everyone that I pass, but at the same time pulling it off and feeling fabulous haha.
In this blog I will show you a compilation of my outfit experimentation. You will be able to see what I wear and how I chose to wear it. My fashion tends to be rather eclectic. I like to try all kinds of different styles from college prep to retro vintage.
Being in college I have learned to be fashionable on a low budget. A large collection of my closet is from thrift shops like Value Village and Goodwill. I have always enjoyed searching through the racks at those stores. I love getting things from thrift shops because I know it is unique and it would be hard to find another thing just like it. I also love the fact that the item of clothing had a story and a life with a different person before I bought it and I get to take it and continue its story in a whole new way.
I hope you enjoy my blog. I am excited to start this new adventure.
