FRIEND TELEPATHY

I swear my friend Eliza and I have telepathic powers! Not only can we understand each others tired jumbles of words when everyone else stairs in confusion, but we also tend to dress in matching outfits without ever communication to each other our outfit plans. This has happened so many time that there is no other way to explain it but a little bit of telepathy. It probably does help that we have similar tastes in fashion. The only big difference is that I tend to lean more towards bright colors while Eliza sticks to her more earthy tones.

So these outfits matched to much that we had to put it on the blog! What happened was that Eliza was coming to pick me up so we could go shopping and hang out together. Right as I opened my house door for her we both stepped back yelling "NO WAY!" We couldn't believe how much alike our outfits were. We both had on denim crop tops, maxi skirts and strappy saddles. So I grabbed my sister (who has been taking all my blog pics for me!) big shout out to Whitney!

My outfit is centered around my denim crop top that I had been dying to wear since I bought it from Value Village. I had to get some help from my mom to tie it because the fabric is so bulky it was hard for me to tie it and still make it look good. Then I added my belted green maxi skirt from Forever 21. To accessorize, I put on my favorite sandals from Target. I also put on my new bracelets from a really cool store called Earthbound. One of them is a mood bracelet which is SOOO COOL! I always loved mood rings when I was a kid so when I saw the bracelet I had to have it.

When I asked Eliza where her clothes where from, she had some trouble. We figured it out though haha. So her super cute, zip up, denim crop top is from Francesca's. Her black maxi skirt is from Forever 21 as well! Her sandals are from Birkenstock. I'm glad I could feature Eliza in my blog because she has always been one of my biggest fashion inspirations! I have always looked to her for new looks and great taste.

STITCH WORK

This post is a fun casual outfit inspired by my new love of 70s fashion and music. This is a truely thrifted outfit because every part of my outfit was found at the thrift shop except for my sunnies. I love the pink shirt because of the stitching done on the top. It adds more color and a fun vintage feel.

The clogs were so unique and fun that when I saw them on the shelf I couldn't walk away without them. They give me some extra height without having the pain of regular heels. They are a lacy almost crocheted fabric that also has a great vintage vibe.

My awesome circle sunnies I got for an awesome deal at Wet Seal. When I'm shopping I'm always looking for the deals. I love these sunnies not only because of their vintage fashion but also because they are so out there. I love having peaces that make me different or stand out a little.

The shorts I originally bought as capris and then cut them into shorts. I love the stitch work on them as well! The lines down the side add so much character! My favorite part about them are the back styled pockets in the front. They are also nice because they have a slight high waist rise to them, so they aren't to high for regular length shirts.

SMOCK SHOCK

So I will admit that I have been bad about keeping up with this blog this summer. I did say, in my last post that, I was going to try to post more regularly, but I did just the opposite. I even had these pictures this whole time and was so lazy that I never got to posting it until now. I was working and didn't feel much like taking the time to update my blog. Now I am done with my job and have no excuse to not post so here I am. Sorry for how long it has taken me.

So this outfit is centered around this Hispanic style smock. To be honest, I have no idea where it is from because it has been in our dress up box forever. It used to go down to my mid shin so I just cut it to a length that I desired and didn't even bother hemming it because i liked the rough edge...and I'm lazy haha.

A big inspiration for this outfit was the brand Gypsy Warrior's Instagram page. I encourage you guys to go check it out! So I went with black accent pieces, like my boots from Pac Sun and my hat from Forever 21. This toned down the smock a little making the outfit not so intense. Then to have some fun and more bohemian, I added my round cheetah print sunnies. I also played around with wearing a belt and not wearing one. The belt made it so that it came in at the wast giving the dress a more fitted feel, while the no belt look gave it a more flowy and relaxed look.

Jean Queen

The foundation for the outfits in this post are my Levi skinny jeans and Giraudon New York heels. Both of these items I got at thrift stores. The shoes are from Good Will. The pants are from a small thrift shop in Longveiw, WA when I was shopping with my good friend Parisa Parvas. I'm telling you that store was full of treasure and great deals! So if you ever find yourself in Longveiw go downtown and check out their antique and thrift shops so you can find yourself some awesome deals! Anyways the jeans are great because they are such a great bright color and their material is a nice strong denim. The heels are so cool, when I saw them in the store I couldn't leave without them. They are dark brown on the bottom, with a blue stripe around the middle and then tan on top. The great part about these shoes are the diamond shaped cut outs in the top and also the ankle strap. I love their vintage look.

So for this first outfit I just put on a comfy thin t-shirt that is in an olive green that I am obsessed with. I just tucked it in on the side and let it drape down my hip on the other. Then I added a long necklace to jazz the outfit up and make it not to casual. This is a super comfy and super cute outfit.

For this next outfit I had to use my flower printed button up. I love this shirt so much because of all the colors! But because of how colorful it is, makes it a little hard to wear it all the time. So any opportunity I have to wear it I make sure to do so. This creates a fun playful outfit that is just so happy I couldn't help but to throw up the peace signs. It just sends out good vibes haha.

Then I decided to get a little dressy and throw on a navy blue blouse and some silver jewelry. The blouse I found at Ross. The bracelet I got as a hand me down from my friend Eliza, she was great and let me go through some stuff she was getting rid of. Like they say one man's trash is another man's treasure. I don't think you can really see my necklace in the pictures, but it is a silver C with diamonds. This was given to me ,for my birthday a while back, by my friend Colleen. I love this outfit because it looks dressy while still wearing jeans.

This last outfit is a great summer ensemble that shows off a little more skin. I think it is fun because the heels and jeans keep it classier while the crop top makes it more casual and fun. The crop top I got at Good Will. I'm tell you guys if you really take the time to go through the racks at thrift shops you will find some great stuff that is in fashion.

Well I hope you guys have been enjoying my blog. I have been having fun with it and am going to try to post more consistently. If you guys want to contact me or send me ideas email me at kimball_chloe@yahoo.com Thanks guys!

AN ORANGE PEPLUM

I centered this outfit around my new orange peplum shirt, that I got it from a thrift shop called The Ark. The color and texture of the fabric stood out to me amongst all the other tops in the row. When I pulled it out and saw that it was a peplum i got o excited. They are fun shirts that can cover a tummy or add a cute flair to an outfit. With it being one of my favorite colors and a great fit, I had to get it!

The skirt is a leather pencil skirt from H&M. I love it because I can dress it up like I did with this outfit or I can keep its edgy look. The hat is from a cruse I went on. It is always fun in the sunny weather. It shades you and keeps you looking fancy at the same time haha. The shoes are my leather Harley Davidson boots that i found at Value Village. I fell in love with them at first sight and it was meant to be when they fit me perfectly.

I had fun coming up with this outfit. I was a little nervous at first because of the orange and black because I didn't want it to look to Halloween themed. I think it ended up working out well. Peplum shirts and pencil skirts are great together because they extenuate the thin areas and hide those areas you may not be as confident in.

CAN'T GET ENOUGH DENIM

For this post I decided to go with all denim outfits. I am a great fan of anything denim and am not afraid to wear them together. For the first look I paired my Paige jeans, that i got from a Good Will in Settle, with a super comfy and stretchy denim shirt that i got from a thrifty boutique in town town Spokane. Then I thought "why not just add more denim". So I through on a denim vest I made by cutting off the sleeves of an old jean jacket my mom didn't want any more. Then I topped the outfit off with my Harley Davidson, black boots that I got at Value Village.

Here I just took off the vest so you could see the awesome pattern that is on the shirt. I love the paisley pattern and the pointy collar on this shirt! I think it must be from the 70's but I'm not sure, either way I'm in love with it.

This outfit was mainly just for fun. I thought that the pearl tie and big glasses gave it a fun spin on the nerd stereotype. I love this outfit because of the skirt. It came with the suspenders, which make them so much fun and unique. The shirt is from H&M. The socks along with the skirt are from Forever 21. The glasses and shoes are from Value Village. The tie is a hand me down from my grandma.

I like this outfit best without all the accessories, but they were just to much fun to completely disregard.

When I was thrifting at Value Village one day I found this top and fell in love. It ties in the back and is so much fun. I also love the retro style.I also found these awesome super comfortable highwaisted jeans. This outfit is fun because it is a retro spin in today's trends of crop tops and highwaisted bottoms. Then of courses because of the theme I had to through on my Keds that are almost look like they are made of denim.

For this last outfit I went for something super summery. I put on my highwaisted shorts that
I made from cutting pants I bought at the thrift shop. Then added a jean button up tank top from Value Village and tied it up. This is a fun outfit with kind of a rockabilly flair to it. A good warm summer day outfit.

THE POLKA DOT PANTS

I love these pants. They are so much fun! I got them at a more up beat thrift shop in Moscow Idaho called The Storm Cellar. They are great because they look a lot like a full length skirt but they are pants which make them that much more comfortable. And they have pockets! Also not to mention the awesome polka dot pattern and the fun vintage vibe they have.

For the first outfit I paired them with a striped crop top that I got at Forever 21. I love mixing patterns! There are always people that say you cant mix patterns, but whats the fun in that? To top off the outfit I added my hat and platform sandals from Forever 21 and then a brown belt to pull it all together. I love this outfit because it has such a fun summery feel to it and I also love any excuse to wear my hat.

With this outfit I went for a more dressed up look by wearing a lace top that I actually got as a hand me down from my friend Eliza's mom. I topped the look off with sparkly silver earring and bracelet that I also got as a hand me down from Eliza. Then lastly I added my nude heals that I got from Good Will.

With this outfit I was going for a comfy, slouchy outfit that would be perfect for the beach. I just paired the pants with a short sleeved beachy sweatshirt that I got forever ago from American Eagle. Then for the shoes I wore my favorite sandals that I got at Target.

For this outfit I made it nice and casual with the same sandals from above and a crop top t-shirt that i got from Pac Sun. I love this shirt because it has a picture of The Great Wave at Kanagawa by the artist Katsushika Hokusai. It has always been a painting that I have loved. Then with the weather being so sunny lately I threw of my circle sunglasses from Forever 21 to complete the look.

For this last outfit I tied up a plain white tank top that I got from Value Village. I wore my brown wedges from Target and paired that outfit with two different sets of jewelry. Above I wore teal jewelry for a pop of some color. Bellow I wore gold jewelry to dress up the outfit a little more. The gold jewelry also matches the gold accents on my shoes. These outfits are fun because they are not super casual, but casual enough that you can wear it out for a normal occasion.
